Peace Corps Timeline

This is a rough timeline of my Peace Corps application process and experiences. I will continue to add to the timeline as I begin my service!


December '09 - January '10: completed online Peace Corps application (including procuring recommendations)

4 February '10: submitted online application!

Mid-February: emailed PC Chicago Recruiter to schedule an interview for when she was coming to campus in early March

7 March '10: PC interview @ Oberlin

One Week Later: PC Recruiter/Interviewer emailed me a few supplemental forms to fill out & return

17 March '10: PC Recruiter called with a Nomination offer (which I accepted) of English Teaching in Europe!

End of March: PC Medical Kit arrived in the mail

Mid-May '10: (finally) sent in completed medical forms

24 June '10: got my wisdom teeth out & finally sent in dental forms

End of June: received medical clearance!

Early July: received email from Education Desk @ Placement Office asking for a few supplemental application things

2 July '10: talked to a Placement Officer, who told me he'd just put an Invitation in the mail for me!

8 July '10: received my official Peace Corps Invitation to Serve as a secondary TEFL teacher in Ukraine, and accepted a few days later!

19 August '10: received my Staging email, with information about staging (registration/pre-orientation) and flights to Ukraine.
